PREPARE FOR POSSIBLE WATER OUTAGE
PREPARE FOR POSSIBLE WATER OUTAGE
It is possible that this area will experience extended power outages due to the amount of snow and ice expected as part of the severe winter conditions happening over the next few days. If extended power outages occur, we anticipate this to affect water service as well. While we are taking every precautionary action that we can do to keep our system running, we are encouraging you to take steps to store as much water as you can now in case of an outage.
Ways to store water for power outages:
- Fill tubs with water that can be used for sanitary use, such as brushing teeth or filling toilet tanks to keep toilets flushing.
- Buy water bottles and fill large containers, including cooking pots, with water for cooking and drinking. Keep some water in the refrigerator to prevent from freezing.
Please know that our staff will be working 24/7 and doing everything possible to keep water systems on and running. Phones will be answered 24/7 for water emergencies. We expect frozen pipes to be an issue this week.
