UPDATE – – Upper Trinity Transmission Pipeline Leak

July 11, 2019

In the past week, Upper Trinity has been working around the clock to ensure that the crucial repairs to the pipeline are completed as quickly as possible. As of now, the break in the line has been located, and the site of the break has been excavated in order to give the contractors access to work on the repair.

At this time, contractors are actively working to make the necessary repairs. Simultaneously, additional investigation of the leak is being conducted to ensure no additional repairs will be required. Once the investigation is complete, Upper Trinity will be able to determine a timeframe for which the pipeline will be able to be placed back in service. We are expecting to receive additional updates from Upper Trinity next week.

In the meantime, the status of the water delivery system is being carefully monitored. However, until further notice, the current watering restrictions are still in effect according to the following:

  • Even addresses may water on Wednesday
  • Odd addresses may water on Friday
  • Irrigation of flower beds, trees and foundations is permitted any day if it’s by means of a hand-held hose, drip irrigation or soaker hose system

We appreciate your continued cooperation with the watering restrictions, which are in place to ensure that our backup system is able to continue to provide the capacity needed to serve all of the residents and businesses in our district. As we receive new information, we will post updates on our website and social media.

Thank you again for your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Mustang SUD Management

URGENT NOTICE

RE: Watering Restrictions Update
July 2nd, 2019

Thank you to all of our valued customers for helping to conserve water over these past few days as Upper Trinity works to repair their lines. Because of your cooperation, and the partnership between all the local water utilities and Upper Trinity, we are now able to lift the ban on all non-essential watering.

However, we will still have water restrictions in place until further notice. Outside watering will be restricted to one time per week as outlined below, and only between the hours of 7:00 pm – 10:00 am.

  • If your street address is an even number, your days to water will be Wednesdays between 7:00 pm and 10:00 am.
  • If your street address is an odd number, your days to water will be Fridays between the hours of 7:00 pm and 10:00 am.

Irrigation of flower beds, trees and foundations is permitted any day IF it’s by means of a hand-held hose, drip irrigation or soaker hose systems.Residents and businesses should be reminded to turn off their irrigation system after watering or adjust the controller to once per week! We appreciate your continued cooperation and working together as a community to help conserve water during this time.

Sincerely,

Mustang SUD Management

Re: Mandatory Water Restrictions
June 28, 2019

Upper Trinity Regional Water District (UTRWD), one of the providers of water for Mustang SUD, has discovered a leak in its primary treated water transmission pipeline that serves a portion of its northeast Denton County water customers. The leak reduces Mustang SUD’s ability to fully serve the impacted customers and warrants mandatory temporary water restrictions. UTRWD is working diligently to assess the situation, repair the leak as quickly as possible and restore full service. During this time, the following water conservation measures are required:

Water Use Restrictions:

• Water customers are restricted from outdoor watering including irrigation systems until further notice.
• Limit water use to essential purposes only such as bathing, cooking, drinking, etc.
• Practice conservation and minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes.

Thank you all, for being such valued customers and being mindful of water conservation. Mustang will inform customers when restrictions are removed. Please check our website and social media for updates. If you have any questions, please call our office at 940-440-9561.

Sincerely,

Mustang SUD Management
